Title: What can I expect to pay??
Post by: Rock77 on May 01, 2004, 05:33:01 AM: What should I expect to pay per lesson from a coach this summer?? I was talking to my driller and he recommended a coach for me to work with. I asked how much he would charge per lesson. I guessed about $50-60 per lesson, my driller said he doubts that it would be that high, he said moreso in the $30-40 range. What can I expect to pay??

BTW, if it means anything in how much the coach should charge, he's a silver level coach.

plus lineage. cheaper for additional hours.
video costs like $40. Certified Silver level
coach also.

Post by: bigz on May 01, 2004, 10:18:14 PM: i would check the area for bowling clinics by pros..they usually last 2+ hours and costs $25 and up..hope this helps.

If like Anna Marie Duggan, $40 per hr.
If like Carol Norm or Bill Hall, expect to pay $70 or more per hr.

Post by: Doc Hollywood on May 02, 2004, 09:13:41 PM: Man that is cheap for lessons then again maybe they figure most bowlers really are in bad shape and it will take a lot of lessons to get better.

Nonetheless private lessons are the way to go. Much cheaper than buying a game in a box and it goes a lot longer in the long run.

Now if only I had lessons when I first began. It wouldn't be so hard to break the bad habits now.

Post by: Magic Carpet on May 02, 2004, 11:32:15 PM: If I coach in my home center I charge $30 per hour with a two hour minimum. Most people say I am too cheap but I do it more for the love of doing it than the money.
If I am on the road I charge $60 to $100 per hour. Keep in mind that when a coach is on the road ( like Bill Hall often is when you see him ),he has to cover things like airline tickets, hotel and other expenses. Thatâ€™s why I like doing small groups of 5 or 6 people over 2 or 3 days when I travel. That makes it a lot more affordable for the students and they get way more time than most could afford otherwise.

Post by: BowlingDude300 on May 02, 2004, 11:43:21 PM: I recieved lessons a few times. My coach is awesome. First lesson was $20 an hour and she payed for my games. Not to mention she drove 2 hours for no extra cost. Now, for all return lessons its 20 for entire lesson and still no extra cost for driving. Free film and and bowling tape. Shes even gonna send me some polish.

Post by: Rock77 on May 03, 2004, 12:06:59 AM: So far, these prices arent bad at all. Heck, at these prices, I may be able to take more lessons than anticipated. BTW, how often should i be taking lessons. I was thinking of working with the coach once every two weeks. Should i try to go every week??
