When competing, do you look at your opponent's score?
« on: June 11, 2012, 02:04:57 PM »
Do you like see where you stand with your opponent through out a game, or do you prefer to look away and bowl pretending your against noone?

Is it different with what type of competition. Individual versus Team?

Personally: I look my opponents' scores.

In league play, I will look at the opponents score to see how we are doing.  In a tournament, it doesn't do any good because the best bowlers could be several lanes away.  I know what I have to bowl so I concentrate on my own shot.  If I am struggling to carry and someone else has a lot of strikes, I will ususally look to see where he is playing.

In league I watch what my opponents are doing where they and playing and vise versa to see how the lanes are breaking down and what adjustment I have to make ill look at the score time to time but not all the time

Yes. I need all of the details and data I can get. (It's in my DNA as an engineer!)
I watch every shot, looking at ball reaction, lane changes, and of course - score. I want to know if I only need 6 or 7 in the 10th to win ... then I can try another ball to see if I get a better reaction for the next game. I might sacrifice 1 or 2 pins at the end of a game if I know I'm comfortably ahead (or uncomfortably behind! LOL!) in order to gain potentially more the next game.
I guess I'm always trying to think ahead, and watching everything helps me to do that.

I can look at the score but I cant watch them throw the shot.
If I see him/her carry some lucky crap, I get kinda mad. But I will watch the score.
