Just took my 3yr old boy for a bowl for his first time. I really wanted him to enjoy it, and get a positive experience from it. I think I succeeded, we had a game each with bumpers, had fries, played the arcade machines (he neally shat himself playing Daytona 500 with the vibrating steering wheel), then had another game, it took altogether close to 2 hours. Going home I asked him, if he would like to go again, and he said yes... AWESOME!!! Something we can hopefully continue to do together.. Just have to get the youngest one into bowling...
This is one of those father and son activities that we can hopefully continue to enjoy for the rest of our lives. It was really beautiful.
He had his size 7 AMF shoes on, beautiful, he even threw the bowling ball himself (well drop it really) shot a 61, great stuff!.. As a father, it was as sweet as anything I have experienced in bowling. I even took the camera to capture this momentous occasion.
Any bowlers out there like to share their experiences in regards to taking their kids bowling for the first time.. Love to read your thoughts.
Additional, bowling on bumpers quite an experience, its damn hard to keep my strike ball from touching the bumpers, tried a more direct and harder line, its a real test.. I was against the wall, which cetainly made picking up 7 pins interesting (i'm a leftie). Still all good!
My only concern is that my little man will cost me a packet on arcade games!! I don't know the costing involved in the US for these, but in AUS they're not cheap!!
Hope to read some posts. Take care. LL
