What coverstock covers the most boards?

Hey everyone,

  I'm not asking this because I need a ball or anything, but I'm wondering what all of you think about this. It seems like we always have people coming on here and writing negative reviews about this ball or that ball because it didn't hook the way that it was supposed to. While I know that a discussion sort of like this has taken place in the "particle 101" post, I was just curious what everyone thinks.

  For the sake of setting the field for everyone, what coverstock material will allow a bowler to cover the most boards on a medium condition with clean backends?

  In my personal opinion, if you're looking to cover boards on this condition, a pearl reactive would be the way to go. What do you guys think?

I would say pearl reactive, but only if you have enough revs. I'm pretty rev challenged, so for me an 800 grit solid reactive with a tough of shine is the way to go on conditions like you stated. I have trouble getting my igniter to really turn the corner.

Although..... I've been suprised many times by my teammates Track FreakOut. That thing comes back really hard. Sometimes too hard & you can actually see it die out as it breaks left. If conditions warrant, a particle pearl like that might cover more boards.

I think it is a toss up between Brunswick's Power Koil 18  and Columbia's Super-Flex. They both reflect, to an intense degree what the core "allows" them to do. Both have greater "reflections" than Storm's Accu-Tread, in my opinion.

I tell you what I think and that is we need some sort of way to split the balls up by performance.I.E heavy oil,med oil,light oil,dry.I know the manufactures already do this but if I am out of bowling for a stent then come back I have to track down all the balls that have been released and so on.Regardless of what I consider heavy oil or you consider heavy oil go by manufactures data the are own experiences.I guess if a ball was desinged for heavy oil put it in a heavy oil category and so on.

My first thought was reactive on clean backends......however, after thinking about this for all of 20 seconds....I would say pearl particle. I can name 2 balls that with similiar drillings have outhooked any reactive I have ever seen.

Track FreakOut and Ebonite Apex Adreanaline. Both pearl particles. When the FreakOut hit dry, look out....there was no loss of energy or roll out on that ball.

Interesting responses from everyone,

Excaliber, you may be right about particle pearls. My Purple Ice Executioner, in box finish, reacts off of dry like someone is kicking it to the left, so you may be right.
