Title: What do you consider...
Post by: Scolai on March 08, 2009, 01:57:57 AM
What do you consider essential equipment for your bag?  Outside of the obvious ball/shoe equipment, what else should every bowler carry in their bag?  For example:
tape
scissors
fingernail clippers
thumb-hole scraper
nu-skin
rosin bag
sure-slide/baby powder
pain reliever

Any other suggestions?

A hole beveler, a shoe brush, and a small bottle of Tylenol. (Sorry, just notice you had already mentioned pain reliever.)

What you listed plus....

a small knife to remove grips etc.
an extra set of finger grips
superglue... for grips and minor cuts/abrasions/cracked or split fingernails
a small ring to place the ball on while working on it
shoe brush
just a few thing I have in my "Bag of Tricks"

extra shoe strings...

Always carry a PEN to record the scores and a towel to wipe the oil off the ball!

I go to the drugstore and where the diabetic supplies are kept, and I buy those pre-moistened alcohol wipes that are used for people checking their sugar.  I love using those to remove tape gunk from the thumbhole.

I also don't leave home without a tube of Chap Stick in my little arsenal, since I can apply it to the thumb in the exact spot where I stick and it doesn't go all over the place like Easy Slide.

In addition to all the stuff already mentioned,
- Sandpaper, 100, 150, 220 grit to adjust thumb hole, remove humidity.
- 1/8" flat bladed screwdriver instead of knife.
- maroon, green and grey nylon pads.
- supply of cleats/inserts for Linds Exxxtra shoes.
- band-aids
- thumb tape and blister tape.
- shoe condoms/cozies/covers
- extra towels
- ball cleaner and ball cleaner towels, including very thin one (old T-shirt) to get down into finger holes if necessary.
