What do you enjoy MOST about bowling?

Since I haven't bowled regularly, I'd have to say what I miss most (and thus must have enjoyed most) about bowling is BSing with the guys on the team once a week.  I don't miss the scores, the actual bowling (too much, although there are times...), and I don't really miss the competition.

What part of bowling gives you the most satisfaction?

for me its also the fun with friends but I also really enjoy cheering on a friend or mocking him

The challenge of finding the shot every week. The house I bowl at on wednesday seems to vary a bit each week. I also enjoy trying to keep up with the adjustments as the night wears on.

I really enjoy those nights where a guy on the opposing team starts trash talking, it flips a switch on me and my bowling gets even better because it causes me to focus more.

It does seem shallow, but i feel the same way. If i ever get to the point that i dont feel like i can compete on some sort of level, i will probably quit bowling all together.

Surprised so far, noone said the famous Homer Simpson quote "mmmmmm...Beer".

For me, I kinda enjoy trying to get myself relaxed enough to the point where I can stop focusing on all the wrongs in my game and focus on having a good time, and not make it a waste of 15 dollars a week.

I don't think it's shallow.  You enjoy a challenge, and you enjoy when you can push yourself to overcome and prevail in that situation.  Nothing wrong with that.

ok i'll bite...

I could say competition, but honestly, its just winning. The drive to win and to be the best that I can is what pushes me to compete and to keep increasing my level of competition on the toughest conditions.

Also, the fact that bowling is absolutely never the same. Different lanes, oils, cleaners, patterns, temps, humidity, barometric pressure, stakes, opponents, personal feeling that day, etc. With all these variables, its a thinking man's sport, but ironicaly, the more you actually think, the worse you'll perform
