What do you guys use for heavy oil
« on: January 09, 2005, 12:41:46 PM »
What balls are you guys using for your heavy oil/flood condition. I played with my particle deisel today as it was the strongest ball I had and only after 3 1/2 games did the ball stop coming back with huge wet oil streaks on it. So needless to say the ball didn't move to much so what ball would you guys play in that situation.
Thanks
Brian

...but how do you go from a swamp monster to.....a slayr?  Even if he is a supercrank, it doesn't explain why he would be using the swamp and then switch...

Question mark...

My ACE works great with heavy oil.

Real Deal, drilled stacked with the lmb in the strong position, surface sanded to 600 then scuffed with a grey pad.  Very rolly with explosive hitting power.

on a heavy 42 feet pattern I use my 800grit sanded Vendetta red/black on a very tight line (Usually 15 to 10) and I let her explode on the backend...

As I always say, there's no heavy oil ball, just bowlers who know how to play the oil...

Anyways, the original question.  I never see heavy oil but if i did i'd use the ultimate inferno.  But if it was a flood, though i don't have it, i'd want to use a goliath or that particle rule or some really strong particle.

Try something like a Visionary Scorcher or Lane#1 Super Carbide Bomb.  Shoot, my Visionary Granite Gargoyle was a champ, I'm just too lazy to clean it every 3 games...so I had to give it an early retirement. Anyway, The AMF Angle Evolution Tour was also a phenominal ball for the soup, as is the Track Phenom. Anything with a high load of particles, and has a high flare potential, because you want as much clean ball surface to touch the lanes, so that it rolls over non-oily coverstock. That's just my $0.02...you take it for what it's worth (which might I add, doesn't have the highest exchange rate)!!! :^)

Swamp Monster.  That is, if I actually got to bowl on some oil.
As of late, even the SmashR or Inferno often don't make it past
the 2nd game.

Depends on how strong the back ends are with the heavy oil. I would start with my sanded Animal first, but if that proved to be too much, I would move to my polished Rule.
