How many people on here still throw 16lb equipment?  And for what reason(s) do you still throw it?

Personally I still throw 16lb stuff cause I find 15 too light and overthrowing it.

I still use 16 pounders .. got a few balls from AS where I settled for 15 .. but my preference is 16 .. no particular reason .. just feel comfortable with them!

I'm also rather tall 6' 5", 250lbs, rather muscular.  Always have thrown the 16#.
Have thrown a friends 15#, turned out to be a zinger.  Way too much speed; sometimes when full of energy, wish 17# or 18# were legal. Also, you can get pretty good closeout prices on 16# because most have migrated to the 15# stuff.

I still throw 16lbs, mainly because of the comfortability factor.  Also, like Kegler said, the prices on 16lb stuff is great

I use 16 lb. equipment.  I tried 15, but switched back to 16 after a few months.  For me, the carry wasn't as good with 15 lb.

When you throw the ball 17mph + I don't think weight really matters.

Plus if your a stronger individual, you need 16lbs I strongly believe.

From my personal experience, when I use/used 15lbs my armswing gets really out of sink, because I can move that lighter ball so much easier.

I also throw 16lb, I guess thats not to bad for an old fart like myself. I'm 53, 5'11", 188lbs <at least the last time I looked

However, I think I will get a 15lb. plastic ball for my beloved 10 pins!!

16's for me. I'll be 56 on my next birthday. Size, 5'11,220lbs. I'm the last one in my area that my driller buys 16's for. I personally wish they made 20 lb. balls. I pitched fastpitch softball for 17/18 years and then had to give it up after i blew my knee out. Everything is fine though i can still bowl. I am constantly working on keeping my ball speed down. I figure by the time i hit 75/80 years old i might be ready to drop some in the ball weight.

I have to agree with everyone else. I throw 16 mainly because 15 just feels way too light for me. I have a red zone in 15 and I really have to concentrate on keeping my armswing normal. I'm 6'3", 220 lbs...so that may have something to do with it. I also find that my 15 pounder flares a lot more than the rest of my balls.

I still throw 16, and I see no compelling reason to drop to 15.
