The days when you bowled pot games across 12 lanes.

Just a few of my memories:

1.  The smoke of 8 cigarettes during pot games as I (a kid of only 6 or 7) kept score.  Many a day I made more money keeping score than my dad did bowling.

2.  Semi-permanent burn marks on my arm.

3.  Temporary blindness if you didn't watch where you were looking.

4.  Having to keep score for only half the time while the other team did the rest.

5.  A time when everyone actually knew how to keep score.

I used to get paid to score these pot games lol...then go across the building to play video games and eat candy which can be used to make tires....

The ultimate place would have those scoring tables and Star Shield masking units, with lights that still work.

The metal grid that went over the plastic scoring sheet got even hotter than the damned lamp. If you kept score with that stupid yellow grease pencil, you learned not to lean any part of your arm on that metal grid. The only support your hand hand was at the shoulder!!

The haze of smoke
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

All of the above about how hot they got and the smoke from the cigarettes, plus, if you happened to work either the counter or the floor during those years, you will remember cleaning those re-useable thick plastic score sheets.  When they came out with the thinner disposable ones, that was a time-saver although it seemed to cause the sheet to be even hotter than before when keeping score.
