I have heard it all now!
« on: December 24, 2003, 01:24:17 AM »
I was bowling in my Tuesday night league 2 weeks ago and
around the middle of the 3rd game my ball starts hitting
flat. Well just trying to start a conversation I said to
a guy on the other team "well looks like the carrydown showed
up." He gets up and bowls throws a brooklyn strike and says
"what carrydown?" real sarcastic like I did not know what I was talking
about. I just shrugged him off. Heres the kicker.............
He was a FREAKIN lefthander!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!

Had a notion to ask him what stump he just crawled out from under.

I have to add another lefty story as well.  We were practicing beside one a few weeks ago and my father and I were complaining about how many lefties made match play in the PBA lately.  This lefty proceeded to tell us that they should make 1/2 of next year's exempt field left handed.  After I picked up my jaw, I asked him if he realized just how many lefties were on tour now?  I told him that while I wasn't certain of the exact number that tour full time, I guessed that this 25 he wants to make exempt would pretty much cover all the lefties out there now.  I also told him that this number was about 20 too high.  He argued for a little while longer, but eventually gave up after I just ignored him.  I thought some of my comments were bad enough that he would have left earlier.

I will give a good wrongsider his due if he is truly throwing a great shot like the great Earl did.  However, if half of next year's PBA exempt are left handed, then I will quit watching.

Blah,Blah,Blah, lefty dumb, whine, whine, whine righties have it tough!!! I hear dumb comments coming from people who bowl on both sides of the lane all the time. You cats are too funny. Kat there should only be about 8 unless the second half changes again. Had heard they bumped around the volumes after lefties were making it too often. Bones you are correct I bowl on 1 team that has all righties but thyself. With only 15% of the world in their "right" mind its tough to find partners.

Kat- Good luck to your boys in the bowl game. I'll see you in Reno!!

I also am the only lefty on my team, but the other night we went against the second place team which had three lefties on it. So here we are with four lefties bowling together.

I even made the comment that I would get to move like the righties do! I’m sorry to agree with some of the right-siders on this board, but lefties don’t know how to adjust (well some don’t).

The first game we were all close to our averages. I had the high game of 225. Now along comes the second game. I shot a 257 and none of the others broke 200. I told my team that they weren’t adjusting to the playing conditions. One of the lefties who likes to swing it opened in the first FIVE frames. LOL. I could tell he was upset. He would throw the ball then turn around and look at me. I would just smile, look up at his score and smile again.

In the third game and one of the lefties started throwing my line but by this time the track was drying out. I which balls and shot a 215 with an open in the fifth.

Needles to say out of the four lefties that bowled together on that night three of us had 200+ averages (213 mine). I was the only one to break a 6. Oh yeah, we won all four games and now we are in first place by two games.

Actually, I thought it was great being able to move with the conditions. I found out how easy it is for righties. All of you guys open up the lanes for each other. I only wish that could happen to me each night.

My wrist brace is just like my RADAR detector, I really don't need it but it sure makes me feel better when I have it on.

Gee, Bones.  I guess I'll return my card to the PBA since I obviously can neither adjust nor bowl.  Gosh, and to think all of this time I've been deluding myself.

Personally I find your posts about lefties offensive.  I'm a freak.  I'm a wrongsider.  I'm an incorrect bowler.  I can't flatten my wrist.  I can't this.  I can't that.  Or so you say.  Personally, what you say has been rendered completely meaningless by your obvious biases.  You are now on my list of people to avoid getting information from, no matter what the topic may be.  I would also be willing to bet that I could beat you throwing only one ball in my arsenal and I'd let you choose the area of the lane I would play between first and fourth arrow.

But you wouldn't take that bet, because you won't bowl on the same pair against a lefty.

What caused you to develop these sad opinions about other human beings?  Were you one of those left-handed people who had his left hand tied down so you were forced to use your right?  Did some lefty hand you your gluteus in a megabucks tournament some years ago?

Let me tell you something, sir.  I bowl a qualifying squad in a PBA regional with a herd of other lefties.  I switch lanes every game.  I have to make my adjustments and make them quickly enough so I don't get blown off the lanes by the rest of the bowlers out there.  I have good games and I have bad games, just like every other person out there does, on both left and right sides of the lane.  I've bowled in 2 regional events on two different patterns and cashed both times.  You?

I believe once you get over your personal vendetta against left-handers you will stop getting your butt kicked by them every time you lace-up to bowl.  Free your mind, and the rest will follow, I believe the old song goes.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Obviously Pin-nut has been spending a lot of time on the lanes practicing rather than listening to annoying people spout their drivel about how lefties have it soooo easy compared to right-handers.
