Pocket 7-10's????

One pair at one of our local centers is known
for leaving pocket 7-10's.  Good players often
leave two or three a night in league.
What might cause a certain pair to produce
this leave?

Our student union is rather notorious for leaving 7-10s as well...we'll have nights where i'll see the amount of 7-10s in the double digits (with 4 bowlers a lane and 10 lanes, that's a lot)  I left 5 on one fateful night, that was definitely a FUN experience...

Funny story actually, a friend of mine bowling during my freshman year left a 7-10, picked it up, and then left it again on the very next ball.  So of course everybody crowds around him to see if he'll pick it up again.  Well...the ball was in the ditch at the arrows and everybody was on the floor laughing, even the guy who left it.  Good times.

the reason why so many are being left on that lane is because the 7 and 10 pins are probably set too far back on the pin deck.  the 6 pin probably misses in front and the 4 slides in front of the 7 as well.  it wont happen all the time, but when u get an offset rack and someone comes in just a little light, your chances of leaving it skyrocket.  ive seen this with offset head pins, 5 pins, etc...leaving some really weird leaves.  my father left a 4-9-10 the other day...the 10 had to be too far back or something, because that cant be possible under normal circumstances.

I left one tonight...  If I use my zone, and i send it to far ouside, it will come in light.  And i mean LIGHT, and i leave the 7-10, i have left that with this particular ball 5-7 times.  Other than that i love this ball on light oil conditions, it really fits my style.

I have no clue how i do it, and i hate it.  That is all...

left one on Saturday night with NO explanation whatsoever! Great shot, or so it appeared.....deep sigh...

My other house leaves them constantly,....I'll see it at least once on OUR pair every week !
