What do you use for a spare ball?
« on: May 31, 2005, 12:01:41 AM »
I've recently realized I don't like the "feel" of my present spare ball, a Zone plastic.  This is mostly due to the drilling, I think, and rather than plug and redrill it would almost be just as easy to buy a new one.  So what are some good ones to use?  Maybe something that has just a little hook that I could use for dry conditions as well?

For a while, I used one of those Ebonite Saphire's.  Blew the pins out of the pit very well, as I picked the 7-10, 4-6-7-10 and a few more odds and ends with it.

That eventually got replaced by an ebonite 15 ball, which I was pretty impressed with for spares.

I just went to flattening out whatever ball I used for strikes for a while, so I could carry an extra ball.

Few weeks ago, plugged and redrilled my Ebonite Eyeball, and I haven't been disappointed with it yet.

I currently use an Ebonite Shamrock and keep a Visionary Infra-Red Amulet in my locker. The Shamrock is getting retired, and will be replaced next fall with an Ebonite OPTYX Snuffy (it looks like this... )   LOL

PS...Also have: Ebonite Skull Ball, Ebonite OPTYX Bud Light Bottle, Ebonite Clear Wolf, Ebonite Clear WereWolf, and Roto-Grip Clear Grenade sitting in my closet...they have all served me well (except the Skull and Bud Light, just couldn't drill them).

Aqua spare storm doesnt hook at all even if u throw it 11 mph it is very good but cant really use it as a strike ball deflects too much.
