The flare ring closest to my holes is equidistant from both the fingers and thumb. It's 2 1/2 inches away. I'm guessing this would put my tilt somewhere in the middle grounds?

That gives you a means to measure your PAP, not tilt.
Tilt is directly proportional to the diameter of the first track flare ring. Measure it and then refer to this chart:

It's the one closest to the finger and thumb holes.

Thanks, kind of what I thought, though that could be confusing if the bowtie wasn't above the fingers like is typical.
