I learned that I can actually make 7 pins.  I have to throw my plastic ball straight with no side turn and not move so far right on the approach to shoot them.

It's amazing.  Once I get completely comfortable with it, I might see an increase in my average!

1) That bowling is easier when I don't think about it.
2) Practice is for fixing things, league is for bowling.

Coming back from a broken leg has taught me to stay slow with my feet and find better balance at the line. When I get fast with my feet my timing suffers and so does everything else there after. Better balance is a work in progress.

I appreciate the carry of 15# equipment, versus 13#.

That I don't have to bring 4 balls to a league knowing that I do even better with just 1 or 2 every week.

My timing is horrible, but I am working on it.  I worked with my first ever coach from 20 some years ago Sunday.  He identified some causes and gave me two things to focus on. The timing was better in league last night.

My mental game and confidence are all but nonexistent.  I think that once the timing is back, the confidence will return and the mental game will get better.

As much as a part of me feels it is time to hang it up, there is a stronger part that wants to stay and fight.

I have learned that having children does wonders for your game...you wonder where the heck it went.    Wouldn't trade him for the world.

I learned how competitive I really am, I have been bowling for a long time with decent results(205-210 average)am just now starting to bowl a few tournaments.  I love the competition and the thrill of beating someone who acts like a moron when they throw a meaningless double.  I love to win and I hate to lose.

What I have learned so far this year:
1. League only matters to folks that bowl league not tourney players.
2. There's a difference between being called a good bowler and a player.
3. Spares are a huge part of my game
4. My layout's seem to work for everyone else but me.....
5. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid
6. I need to concentrate on what I do well, not try more tilt here, more up the back of the ball there..etc.
7. Averages are over rated.
8. Allstar points system needs to be changed

I learned that throwing it harder does not make the corner pins go away.  I reduced my back swing and slowed the ball back down and got my carry back.
