« on: March 21, 2009, 03:54:34 PM »
hey fellow bowlers i would like some insite and what has happened with your game since you have anykind of arm surgery. im having the tendon in my forearm replaced due to its peeling like a string they tell me my recovery time will be about 5 to 6 months thry will be taking a piece of tendon out of my toe for replacement and 10 days after the surgery i start physical therapy for 6-8 weeks followed by 6-10 weeks of strength training even if you have not had this  procedure done and had something different done how did it affect your game and what changes if any did you have to make and were they for the better  or did you find that your game went to hell thanks for the input

For sure ball weight you may have to drop a pound or two.
2. arm swing you may have to adjust the height of you backswing for awhile untill you feel better.
3. go slow dont rush comming back its not worth doing some perment damage to yourself.

I work in a hospitial ive seen people try to go right back to bowling with 15,16 pound stuff and they really just ending up really hurting yourself.

I have not had surgery but have wrist elbow and shoulder arthritis that has caused me to go to 14lb..

I will tell you it hade a big diffrence from pain to no pain when i throw..  also my carry has increased for me..

i am a 450-500 rev about 18-20 mph  those were measured before the weight change.  my coach has sugested that i have not increased speed much wich he says is good, but he told me my rease and rev off my hand is more acurate now..

if that helps
