Title: What if they came out with a new coverstock?
Post by: TheBowlingKid25 on November 10, 2004, 12:15:36 AM
Is it possible to come out with something like a plastic/pearl coverstock? Like use the same method they use to create particle pearl? Or what if they made another double helix type of ball that had plastic in the middle and pearl outside of that? Im just curious, what do you guys think? Is it possible to make a plastic/pearl, or plastic/particle?

The Helix could work for any style of bowler(even a full roller, although I've never seen it tried).  The problem was know it all pro shop guys who didn't know how to drill it or didn't read the drilling instructions.  It wasn't about matching your track up to the stripe.  That ball had two pins, One small riser pin which located the top of the weightblock and a Black normal sized pin on the right side of the ball(for the RH version).  With that Big Black pin, you were supposed to line it up on your PAP, then draw your midline and your track would line up perfectly with the stripe no matter how you tracked.  It's a simple process for drilling that ball, it's just alot of people ignored it when drilling it and results came out funky.
