LEAGUE SECRETARY
« on: November 06, 2006, 09:13:09 AM »
A member on my team wanted his weekly scores. He had not been keeping track of them and wanted to start using AllBowling.com to keep track of what he did. I emailed the league secretary and asked him for them. That was roughly 2 weeks ago and my teammate has not seen anything yet. We can not take his total pins and do it that way, cause it will not come out right. We need each game from each week so it will figure out correctly at the end. AllBowling gives you your average each week, your running average and each game.

There have been other things that we have asked from him and he seems to ignore what we are asking. Is there something that says a league member can not get their scores for each week that they have bowled?

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 18 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND SMASH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

When the scores are posted each week, everyone's scores for each game should be listed. Some league secy's don't know how to use the program correctly and that may be the reason why your individual scores are not listed.

Yes, you do pay the secy for his/her duties and yes, you should be able to get your weekly scores but if you're asking the secy for alot of extra info and extra duties, it would be at either his/her discretion and leisure if he/she wants to do the extra work.

If he/she lists the scores each week, then it would be up to you to keep track of the your scores for the entire season.

Ask for an end-of-year report.  My secretary gives each bowler a packet at the end of the season that shows their games plotted on a graph, separate lines for the first, second, and third games.  There's also a first, second, and third game average.  It should be easy to just generate a list of scores.

As an aside, why does your team captain not keep the recap sheets each week?  Those will have all the scores for your team.

Does your league use leaguesecretary.com?  If you have an account there (paid account) you can look up your league and get weekly results - not just for you, but anybody in any state.

I have an account and can look up the info - PM if you want.

NO he does not use the on-line secretary. It is not like we have asked him to do ALOT of extra things. We have asked for normal things. One that comes to mind is that our company pays half the league fees for its employees. One memeber of my team asked him what the total amount would be and he would not answer it. Other teams have asked him questions and he blows them off.

It has nothing to do with him having to go out of his way to do things, but he just does not seem to want to do anything for the league. He is also the secretary for another league and I have talked to them and they have told me that he seems to bend over backwards for them. Of course he bowls on that night, so maybe that has something to do with it. But a simple thing that would only take a few minutes to do, has taken a couple weeks. I just do not see the big deal with it. Print themout and give them to whomever is asking. He is there at lunch almost every day on the computer. Since he is on there, why not do it and get it over with.

Maybe this is just a rant and I apologize for that. But was actually just wondering if there was something in the rule book that states you can not get your weekly scores.

If you have a weekly standing sheet that shows the previous weeks scores you can piece it together.  Start asking around the other league members to see if they have the standing sheets and if they can send you the games.

Your team captain should have recap sheets of each week.  One statement confused me, your secretary doesn't bowl on the league? I thought all league officers had to be members of the league.

The league runs over two nights due to the size.  The secretary bowl on the other night. (from a PM)
