Ok, I am wondering how the ball should fit my hand. Should the entire palm of the hand be flat against the ball? The reason I am asking is I have been having problems getting my thumb out of the ball. I hardly ever am able to get a clean release. It feels as if maybe the span is too short, and I have to squeeze the ball slightly to hold it. The ball doesn't rest in the entire palm of my hand. When i start my approach, with my hand underneath the ball, the inside of my palm (beneath the pinky and ring finger) doesn't touch the ball. This makes me believe that either the span is too short or maybe the thumb hole needs to be offset to the left a little bit. Does that make sense? Right now I just feel like I have no leverage and cannot push through the ball. It seems as though I'm always coming out of the side of the ball instead of behind it. I'm just looking to see which direction I should go in. Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.

i would say have your thumb offset a little try a quarter inch at the most i have had that problem before so i tried offsetting my thumb and it really relieved alot of pressure on my ring finger and allows the ball to set nice and flush in my palm. but its all about comfort to me i bowl better when in a ball that fits comfortable actually my span and pitch is almost the same as jeff carter's span and set up

A+, yes if you want to feel more of your palm, try a 2 by 3 or inline drilling... Usually the thumb will be offset to the left by 1/4 - 1/2 inch...

Make sure span to RF is properly adjusted....

you will want the ball to rest on the pad underneath your index and middle finger. If you want the ball resting mor ein your palm all you should need is more thumb lateral away from your palm.

more importantly, I would have your grip checked out by a shop. There could be many reasons why your not getting out cleanly.

There could also be a timing issue, you may not realize it, but you may be turning ball too soon. I know, at times I really have to pay attention on my thumb releasing before turning and lift. When you hit it right (at the exact moment), you can feel how clean your thumb comes out.

But, that may just be my own opinion.
I would first check with a qualified/professional driller though.
