carolier lanes rt 1 new brunswick nj
« on: December 02, 2009, 05:04:24 PM »
There is a guy that works there named Drew. He bowls like a fairy, you might know who he is. He sees me bowling all the time there, and I've bowled in numerous tournaments with him. However, he refuses to acknowledge that I am an avid bowler and continues to ask me if I need bowling shoes and charge me 6 dollars a game- like I'm some sort of amateur. I think Brunswick should really try and hire competent workers who have some sort of personality and friendliness. If anybody sees Drew, please do not respect him. Tell him he bowls like a fairy. This is absolutely serious, we need to do something about this problem.

...and you're a flaming pile of douche...get a life.  He probably charges you like a hack open bowler because you are...

Nothing like coming on a message board to air a personal grievance...what a loser.

Never saw Drew bowl. He's served me at the counter a few times and I don't think I've had any problems with him. He's seen my equipment, a 4 ball roller, nearby so he's never asked me if I needed anything. He is young and seems to work fairly hard there, given how badly some people work behind a bowling center counter.

I am much more concerned with their oiling amount and pattern and cleanliness around the settee area, than I am with their counter service, which is normally fairly decent.

This was actually a sort of joke post that my friend  made after I was complaining about the guy the other night.

I have no real problem with the service at the desk, but unlike the other workers, Drew never seems to acknowledge that I go there.  I am more used to a local bowling center environment where the workers know the league bowlers and give them some perks for their continued support and league participation.

I am not a "house hack" that always complains about the service offered by a bowling alley, but I do have a baseline experience with a series of bowling centers and employees.  I generally believe that if I am in a center bowling multiple leagues over multiple years, the workers should recognize me and not act like I am an anonymous face.

Carolier is a damned big place, and  unless you come in the same time and the counterperson is not insanely busy, I am not surprised they fail to acknowledge you.

DO you say, "Hello Drew, how are you doing today?" every time? Take 3 seconds to know him, single him out or anyone else there waiting on you and maybe he'll respond in kind, eventually.

I used to practice there 2x a week, same time, same days of the week. While some did remember me, others said the same to me that the said to you, "Need shoes", when I had a 4 ball roller sitting next to me. That's life.

Of course, maybe one day, you really pissed him off! , without your realizing it.
