What do you use for dry lanes?

Okay, here's the deal.  I need a ball for dry, toasted lanes.  I'm a HUGE track fan, but have read mixed reviews on the Dry Heat.  It may be time for me to try something different.  What do you use for such conditions and how did you drill it?  Thanks!

Agreed with Charlest,

The Sonic X Solid is TOO strong for what you're considering dry, the core wants to stand up too soon.  The Sonic X Pearl isn't much different, maybe one to two foot more length before it turns over, a little harder on the back.

At best it's a light oil ball but it does need oil somewhere on the lanes to be effective.

Currently I use a Green Gargoyle drilled 5x5 on light oil, which is also TOO strong for dry.  That's when I bust out the Amulet Glow drilled pin over bridge and CG kicked to the right.

Why would I laugh at you?  I shot 720 a couple weeks ago with my urethane Scout!
Funny thing is... Most everyone else on my pair were throwing their hook monsters!  Did God quit giving bowlers hand in the last 20 years or what?

Sonic X Solid, 5.5"x 5.5" is what I use for dry.....not toasted though. I have a Black urethane Hammer, polished and drilled 5x6 for toast,(neg. side-wt.) and also a MJ Slam,the black one, with a lefthanders leverage drill on it that I use for toast. Pick one.

There are different types of dry conditions for me.  If a house (league) pattern breaks down, I can use something like my Shock Trauma or Silver Streak with the pin on the grip line. (under the fingers)  If getting through the heads is more the problem, I will use my other Silver Streak with the pin over the ring finger or my Scout reactive with the pin over the middle finger.  If the lane is dry the length of the lane I can go to my Storm Hit.  My last resort is a red pearl Turbo from back in the day!  I think those options should cover me no matter how dry they get!
