The nerves got me!
« on: February 19, 2004, 07:12:36 PM »
I bowled league last night and we bowled a pretty good team.  During practice I was having problems keeping my new ball from going brooklyn.  First frame I get a split.  Instant ball change and it helped dramatically.  Shot the next 10 and left a 4 pin on the last ball for a 278.  My nerves did not show up until the 10th strike.  Second and third games were a nervous breakdown because I have never shot that high at the beginning of a series.  Ended up shooting a 182 and 184 respectively for a 644 series.  Made my average all 3 games.  To top it off, this is a 10 pt league (5 man team), and I shot the 2nd highest game because one opponent shot a 300 the first game!

All in all it was a good night because that is my highest game so far.  I feel my 700 series is just around the corner since I have shot 7 600 series thus far including this one.  My highest series this year is 692.  Last year I only shot 3.

At the beginning of this year I set 1 personal goal.  It is to shoot a 700 series.  I did not set one for a 300, but if it comes it will be more than welcome.  I believe that the way I am bowling my 700 will be coming soon.  Thanks for your reply.

This is how my never got me .  I started out bowling night with 7 straight strikes, and of course on my eight frame , i pushed the ball out dropped my shoulder and watch the ball  glide right into the gutter. The funny thing is all the way on and down the approach i was saying to myself don't drop your shoulder , and that was the first thing i did . I still bowled a decent game , but i never got any closer to a perfect then that .
