What is your Favorite Oiler of all time?
« on: January 15, 2012, 03:38:38 AM »
Alright a fun opinion question as the title stats what is your favorite Oiler of all time?

Alot of good choices out their and we have all had some good ones.

My Current favorite is my Solaris Requiem for its predictability and consistency off the spot never any surprises, even with a more angular drill pattern it is consistent love it. I have taken the Requiem to Nationals the last to years and have consistently had more room to play with it than guys have with Theorys, Taboos, Missions, and Marvels.

All time favorite though has to be the EPX t-1, I had one that was in a later batch so it didn't fall apart right away I actually put about 100 games on it before it quit on me. Made every pattern no matter how heavy the oil was or how tight it played look like a house shot.

Hmm... Favorite oiler? I'd have to say my S75 with some surface. Don't know about my Aftermath yet, and haven't drilled my Train. So until then, S75.

My best ball for the soup was my old No Mercy Beat'n. That was probably the nastiest backend ball I've ever owned, especially for a solid. I threw it on a fresh pattern at nationals and it made it play like a medium THS. I was swinging it while everyone else played tight in the middle. Loved that ball for the heavier stuff.

For me it was a ball that never got much love. My Fuze Detonator would pick up a roll regardless of the volume. It was also my first sponge ball. You could lay your hand on it and see the outline for a few seconds before it soaked back in. That's how i knew it was time to put it in the sink.

In my opinion there are only 2 that require consideration....

Lane #1 Super Carbide Bomb

Columbia EPX-T1

The coverstocks on these 2 balls were the absolute most aggressive on the market and the cores in both were super aggressive as well......
Although the AMF Mega Friction does warrant an honorable mention.

Oil? What's oil?

At least, hard to find on the lanes these days, it appears?

Anyway, my favorite so far for SERIOUS oil is Lanemasters' NS². This thing is great when there's real soup and carrydown out there - high load carbide particle, huge differential. If THIS thing does not get to roll and carry, hardly anything will.
