Title: What kind of balls would you choose if you do this?
Post by: thedjs on March 07, 2016, 06:54:34 PM
If you decided to start going straighter (like a Liz Johnson or a Walter Ray) what kind of balls would you choose?  For example, would you want weaker balls, balls with high shine, pearls etc.?  What drillings would you want?  Would you try to come up the back of the ball more?  Try to cut down on side rotation?  Where would you stand?  Would you play mostly up the 5 or 10 board?

Thanks.

Instead of a ball,it could be done with hand positions

I already through very straight. Got some hook. Rev rate is apparently just around 10.
I've been using the Jackal for some months now, it's been good to me. I've just not been too good at hitting my mark that often :P But when I do, it hits the pocket so damn nicely.
The 2 other balls in my list are more agressive than the Jackal, one reason being that they're solid. The Jackal is pearl.

My point, get an agressive ball. Heavy oil ball if you mostly play on patterns with much oil.

Weaker, low flare balls drilled medium strength.

Ball choice and surface would depend on the volume if oil.  If it's a THS, playing the oil line is a good bet.  If it's a flatter pattern, playing where your ball exits the pattern in the right position is a good bet.

I just assumed it was a walled house shot
