What Order: Cell, Uprising, Gamebreaker, Ultra
« on: August 02, 2008, 01:54:29 AM »
I have the following balls that I intend to use this fall. Uprising, Cell, Ultra Zone and Gamebreaker.

I am thinking of drilling the Cell for heavy oil, the Uprising for med to medium heavy, and the Gamebreaker for medium to light. I also have an Ultra Zone that I just wanted to try out (got it for 70 bucks  shipped).

Based on cover and core, is this the correct way to set this arsenal up. I believe there is some overlap with the Ultra for med to med heavy, but I was thinking of drilling it to get a more skid flip reaction to give me a different look to the pocket. I generally prefer more controlled drillings.

thanks

I've never owned the U.Z. or UP but I had the Rising and Blast.for me the core starts up way, way, earlier on the Blast over the rising.even the blast with a 5 1/2 pin to pap and polished would hook at my feet. I feel if it were me I would place the UZ for longer oil and the up rising for shorter oil.I think both covers would be good for med oil but the cores are miles apart.
my Blast is my heavy oil ball and probably won't see much use for it.

Well, the Gamerbreaker has a strong coverstock, very low RG and with it being a solid reactive it would be pretty hard to use it on medium to light unless you have a ton of hands even with it polished. If you want something for medium to light oil I would look into the Swarm, Playmaker, Wrath Dead Flush, Toxic, Venus (just to name a few). Otherwise I can your arsenal going like this:

Cell
Ultra Zone
Uprising
Gamebreaker

I agree with that, the Gamebreaker would have to have a weak drill and polish on it to use on med light condition.  I would look at something like a Storm Sure Fire for medium light condition.

Lol, forgot about the Sure Fire. I had that ball and it was really good on those conditions no matter where I threw it. When I added some factory finish polished on mine it went about a foot or so longer than the OOB and still got excellent carry.  But it is stronger than advertised so a 5 to 5 1/2" pin to pap with some polish will work to get it down the lanes further. With some of the recent balls out that has the low RG's, you definitely want to find a ball with a higher RG and a medium to low differential to put under the Gamebreaker.

My thought was to drill the gamebreaker weak and polish it. May not be the best way to use the ball, but I thought it was the weakest of the four.

I have a toxic and a bw pearl, that I can play under the gamebreaker both give me more length although the toxic is more sensitive to carrydown.

I thought that the Uprising would be stronger than the Ultra.

I'm prety sure that the up rising will have more backend then the ultra but the core in the ultra will start up earlier.but this is all based on my experience of my blast zone and the rising I had.cores are slightly different as the covers.
