what should i drill?
« on: February 17, 2009, 12:21:02 AM »
So iam going to be traveling to the states...maybe to bowl a couple of regionals in the florida area...i am going to just bring my spare ball from buenos aires and i have the inention to buy 2 new balls in there.
I was thinking of something to bowl in the long patterns...i was thinking on a virtual gravity...i have always have succes with storm and roto (mystic,agent,pyro...they all seems to work great with my roll)
But lately ive been having troubles when i have to bowl in shortest pattern...not in the really short sport condidtion of 32 feet oil...i recently won bronze medal in the south american wtba masters in this pattern...but i am having troubles when i am bowling on a typical house shot 38 feet pattern...to be more speciific maybe the easy street from kegel...its unreal but i averaged 220 in the dual condition and i couldnt average 210 in this easy pattern (everybody with no hand killed them)
So which ball can i used that could excel in this kind of patterns???
i have 480 rpm with 17 mph speed but with plenty of foward roll thats why in the shortest patterns my ball seem to roll early and loose energy on the backend.
so which 2 balls and with which kind of drills (my pap is 3 3/8) can u recommend me to bowl in regionals in the us and to bowl on the conditiosn that i mentiones before.
Sory for my english i am from argentina

The reviews on the virtual gravity are great so far but from what I have seen so far (about six or eight of them off a wide variety of players) it is a bit conditional to lane patterns and especially bowler style. It looks best on high rev. players that can return it from deep angles and so maybe it would work for you but I would be a bit concerned with your moderate axis tilt. Attitude shift from storm has been very good to me with a couple different layouts on PBA and USBC nations patterns. I would try that for the heavier oil conditions. It works well for me on a very short house pattern as well from a deep inside-out line. As for trying to get further right (which is what it sounds like you are saying scores better on the ths pattern you are seeing) an NVS with a longer layout will probably give you a better angle off that drier pattern. Anyway about it these are a GREAT two ball compliment with proper layouts and they are much better bargains then some of the newest stuff cause the NVS is discontinued and the attitude is on it"s way out too. I have had three attitude and two virtuals and the attitude to me is much better and definitly more versatile.

AMF Mega Friction. Drilled it, tried it, cannot be used on normal house patterns unless you are extremely rev challenged or throw about 20 MPH !
Already set this baby to 4000 Abralon, no polish, just to use it.
