Unlike a few here that have cleaned up for several $$$$$$$ the most i have ever won in one tournamnet is $957.00. All totaled I guess i could be $10000.00 plus, but thats over 7-10 years. With league prize funds for sure over 15000.00 teh last 7 years. I do not bowl major Mega Buck events but i do win enough to pay for my bowling every year. Basically I bowl free and all equipment is paid for with tournamnet money?

I guess that is good but many seem to live of there bowling, i in turn could not for sure. I did have a run this year on Thursday in Jackpots for about 8 weeks that paid my season off.

So whats the scoop... i may need to hook up with a few of you to help me get over the $1000.00 plateau.

The most I have ever won in a single tournament is 1152.00. That was back in 2001, I won State scratch singles, 2nd scratch all events, placed in doubles, placed in handicap all events. I don't remember the exact payout of each event. I was on a roll that year. I probably won 1700 or so in tournaments. Unfortunately, I haven't faired all that well since. I have been cashing in tourneys but nothing to write home about.

I think I won about $50 in a team tournament a long time ago. However, I've gone into pots at tournaments and won about $200. I rarely donate these days.

In 83', I won a tourny in Chicago called the Copeland for $3500. That summer my friends took me around the midwest and we hit everything...I mean everything..ended up about $19K for the 4 months(including pot games), almost won a car too.

Won a local one here a couple of months ago in Cal for $965

but 'bones, done properly, you can win a ton in bowling and still show the occasional net loss

The largest single check I got was for something like $7K, and that half of the year was also very kind to me as I took home close to $20K (this was back in the 80's when you could find tournaments in Texas that would run Friday/Saturday and pay $750-1000 and another in the same area that ran Friday/Saturday/Sunday and pay $1500-2000 plus the bigger holiday events).

Well if I am not mistaken if you report you earnings you can also take your equipment off as a deduction. I would then say I would wash clean

I have done quite well over the last few years. My first tourney ever I placed
2nd in state for singles, 30 in doubles, and 4th in all events. It helped pay for my honeymoon.

I cash .. but in most cases it gets my entry fee back! Even the events I won the prize was never one that I had to worry about the IRS! I'd venture to say that my top prize was less then $500! Can't measure in dollars the FUN I've had!

$125.00 for a second place finish in a NABI event (and NABI isn't in this area anymore).

I won a $250 scholarship for 1st place in the 2003 State All Events. I also won a $60 scholarship for 3rd place in a Pro-Am.
