Got back into the sport last summer and had averaged 193 (about where I was 10 years ago when I got injured). Winter was 195 and was showing improvement. Shot the PBA Experience and was 174 (was hoping for 185, but too many missed spares..
They are going to offer a sport shot league in the fall for the first time in this area. Eight different patterns, changing every 4 weeks.
I had already committed to one league and this one sounds interesting.
But I think the PBA league really showed me how inconsistent I am, and THS was masking some of this. I was planning on shooting 2 leagues this year.
I know I should start with some coaching for sure.
If I pass on the Sport Shot league, my concern is it won't happen again next year...so I should probably do it given the opportunity.
Thoughts?

If someone is offering a sport league in your area I would support them in any way I could. Bowl it let the rest of it work itself out.

You want to improve your avg? You want to be more consistent on shots? Then I agree w/ the 2 posters above me that joining a PBA Experience league is the way to go... Don't get discouraged because your avg goes down, but work on getting better because of it..

I have decided to -
Start some lessons in about a month.
Shoot both the Men's league and the Sport Shot league.
As much as I think my physical game needs work, it's probably more on the mental side.
Last night of final summer league, 7-8-9th frame of final game, I miss two single pin spares and chop a 6-10. I need to focus more instead of assuming the easy spares make themselves.
