nothing.

it is made for oily lanes.

get another ball made for dry lanes and use them on the proper conditions.

You can smooth the surface as much as possible, sand with 2000 then 4000 to get the grit level down then use a regular polish. Once you have a really smooth surface with the regular polish, then use something like Lane Masters Extended Length finish or Powerhouse Extender polish, or any polish that has a slip agent.

But as Juggarnaut said, it's never going to be a true dry lane ball.

You should ask charlest, he might have a better idea, or know of a product you can use that will work.

I have nothing to add. You guys, milo and Juggs have said it all: in 99% of all cases a ball made for true oily lanes cannot be converted into a ball for true dry lanes. Many balls can be made to handle less or more oil, but not from one extreme to the other, for the average revs and average ball speed bowler..

save it for oil, and purchase something weaker (like any of the avalanches) for drier lanes.

Its not like any golfer shows up to the course and uses 1 club all day.  Let technology help you.

Different ball choice would be good. Maybe one ball for medium heavy oil, and one for lighter oil.

With the heavy oil ball, if that were your only choice, your going to keep moving further and further inside trying to find fresh oil. May also want to consider more ball speed and less revs on the ball to help clear the heads and use the friction down lane to help the ball finish.

Be good, or be good at it.

In reality if you are using a ball that is to strong for the lanes and you don't have a choice of balling down get really good at getting in front of the ball return, lofting the gutter cap, and controling the landing zone. I have one league which is essentially scorched earth, a really old wood-lane house on a second shift league, and regardless of the ball I usually have no choice but to let it fly by the second game.

What ball, exactly, are we talking about?

Knowing that might help us make some other suggestions.

Trying to get this ball to be usable on "dry conditions" is fighting an uphill battle. If you like hammer get a backlash or even a midnight vibe.  Would be a nice step down.  No matter how much you paint a pumkin black..it's still a pumkin.
