smelly shoes

so i bought a new pair of shoes and i want to know what i can do to keep them from reeking! my last pair i had for a year and they were disgusting,is there something i can put in the new pair while they are stored away in the bag?

Febreze is by far the best. Thats all hockey players use on thier equipment. If any of you have ever played hockey then you know how bad your equipment stinks. Especially the gloves.
