What was the FIRST reactive resin ball you ever bought???
« on: April 30, 2010, 01:10:49 AM »
Not sure if this question was asked before, but I will post anyway.

Thinking about where we have come in such a short time, I was wondering about this today.

For me, (and maybe others), the first one was the X-Calibur...I remember that it was too big for my hand and I rolled it anyway...the raw power was nothing ever seen before on the lanes, during that time.

I think it was a Brunswick Rhion Pro Teal. Or it might have been a Nitro R2. Too many beers, can''t remember.

Purple Rhino Pro, but my next one was the best: Sapphire Blue Zone. The reaction i got from that ball was something ill never forget. It allowed me to play angles that were crazy for that time...now we see those angles everyday.

My first three given to me my first year in juniors were a

AMF Gray Cobra,
Regency AMF Turbo/C
then towards the end of the season a Brunswick Sapphire Zone.

At that time in 1996-97 everyone had the Sapphire Zone.

The following season I saved enough money to buy a

Track Synergy ETS.

Ball hit like nothing else. Which Is why I bought another one ten years later NIB to drill for next season.

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

The original, the purple pearl Nu-Line X-Caliber. My second was the Teal Rhino Pro. Both were very good balls.

It was a US Champions ball...Red...name escapes me, but it wasn't one of my favorites.

Then I got an El Nino Wrath...I liked that ball A LOT!

Criical Mass Code Red. After junior years of plastic and not bowling thru the urethane era, I remember first throwing the Code Red and thinking that ball should be illegal

Still miss it as I really re-learned how to bowl with that piece and a lot of practice
