What was the FIRST reactive resin ball you ever bought???
« on: April 30, 2010, 01:10:49 AM »
Not sure if this question was asked before, but I will post anyway.

Thinking about where we have come in such a short time, I was wondering about this today.

For me, (and maybe others), the first one was the X-Calibur...I remember that it was too big for my hand and I rolled it anyway...the raw power was nothing ever seen before on the lanes, during that time.

Ebonite Turbo X here as well. Talk about a skid-flip reaction. That thing was and still is sick.

Bought a use Purple Rhino Pro from a member of the Lincoln University bowling team in the middle of a tourney 3 weeks after the Purple Pro was released.

My first NIB resin was a Navy Resin Hammer.

2010 is the first time joining a league since 1999.  Over a 10 year lay off and haven't lost much of my game.   This year currently HG-279, HS-733.

A.M.F. Bobcat was not resin. There was a dark blue urethane solid and a lighter colored pearl urethane, but no resin.

A.M.F. Gray Cobra (actual name was Gunsmoke Cobra) was not resin. It was just a pearlized version of the dark black urethane solid Cobra. The KING Cobra was resin, but not the gray pearl Cobra.

My first resin ball was a Columbia BEAST, though I didn't know that I had the FLEXEL covered version. I had wanted a good 2 piece Columbia urethane, so I got the BEAST. It HAD been a urethane before, and not very many knew the difference between regular urethane and resin urethane. I don't even think Columbia marketed it as such, but it was. Never did figure out why that ball hooked so much more than my older urethanes seemed to, at least not for a long time, until I found out that the latter version was "resinated" so to seak.

Opps, you caught me red handed. LOL.  Okay that was my first reactive ball ever.  Now my first reactive resin bowling ball was the Gold Rhino Pro.
