I think the LT-48 was what they called a "soft" rubber... All I remember is they were really bad about cracking out around finger inserts.

Rubber - AMF 3 dot classic
Urethane - LT-48
Reactive - Can't remember
LT-48 was a soft rubber ball with a special additive, crushed walnut shells. It was another one of those "whoops" moments that lead it to greatness.
As I've heard the story, Brunswick was trying to developed a low cost ball and used this special ingredient as a cheap filler. When to test it and found that it was a monster in oil.
I have one sitting in my garden that still bleeds oil to this day on a hot day!

We had a guy who was just crushing us in pot games after bowling with his LT-48. Someone finally picked it up and I think it weighed around 18 lbs. Seems he was soaking it in some substance that added weight and scores. We never saw him again.

I had a black Brunswick ball I bought at Kmart in the late 80s. Probably around 1988, maybe 1989. Can't remember if it was plastic or rubber.
The next ball I bought was a Brunswick Cyclone, a three-piece plastic ball I got at a sporting goods store. Still got it, though it's been through three plug jobs and still doesn't fit all that great.
After that I bought a Black Sparkle Power Groove in 2003 and about six other reactive/particle balls since then.

Mike, You have to be older than the 43 that's in your profile.
