What would a high load particle pearl do?
« on: June 23, 2004, 02:49:07 AM »
Any mad scientists want to take a stab at this?  Say for instance Brunswick used their Ultra High load particle coverstock from the swamp monster and pearlized it.  Same core and everything.  Any guesses on the reaction?

Why do bowlers all want a ball that skid-snaps then cry about it being over-under when they can't control it?

Wouldnt pearlizing a high load particle kinda of like....defeat the purpose? It would most likely have a massive long strong arc, like hook the whole lane kinda thing.

the animal is a high load particle pearl.

it has good length through the heads and a STRONG MIDLANE AND BACKEND.

I think it most likely be like a very highly polished Heavy Load Particle
Sand a Swamp to 3000 grit and then use a polish like 3M's "perfect it"
or MeQuire's "Mirror Glaze"
These polishes are used for buffing new paint, leave no residue and are made of the same components as ball polish only they are capable of more luster.
You could even go one step further and treat it to some of Doc's Magic Elixir

Where do you get that information?  BTM said it was either a low or medium load.

What about the trauma recovery? According to storm it is Prothane MT plus (Heavy Load) particle pearl. I'v only seen a few of these and they were rather arcy for a pearl.

Storm need more YELLOW and ORANGE balls!

MT (medium traction) is medium load
XT (xtreme traction) is heavy load
as far as I know the only XT ever was the La Nina

Well, if you look in storms glossary, they don't have the XT anymore, they only have these:

LT: Light Load
LT Plus: Med Light Load
MT: Medium Load
MT Plus: Heavy Load

The MT Plus was also used on the Trauma Response.

PS: If you look in storms ball archives, it will say the Trauma Recovery had Pro Thane MT, which is wrong. The Crazy 8s section has the right information.

As far as I know, the Animal is not a pearl ball. It just has a lot of clean and sheen on it. Its a solid though.

The Raiders will win it this year. I can feel it.

I wrote to Track after I bought mine.  They say it's a solid/pearl blend.  I didn't ask about the particle load.  It's almost impossible to tell a solid from a pearl nowadays.  They can do too many things with the color combinations and swirling.
