I have an Eraser PP coming. I bought it under the impression that a particle pearl ball was made to get cleanly through the heads like a pearl, and bite a little when there's oil on the back end, like when there's some carry down. I read in a BTM review, I believe, that they're saying a PP will bite in the oil in the heads and snap like a pearl on the dry backends. Is it one, the other or both??

Particle Pearls IMHO will get the same reaction as a regular pearl once the lanes have a good deal of carry down on them past the breakpoint. If you keep them polished they are still clean through the heads, but will read the midlane sooner than a normal pearl.

You are trying to make a generalization when it's not really possible; there are just too many factors invovled. Besides the human factors, there's the ball itself: light load/medium load, polished/matte/dull, low RG/medium RG/high RG, low RG differential/medium/high, etc.

For some, the EPP will act like a resin pearl because of the drilling and their hand. They may need the Depth Charge with a heavier load of particle and much lower RG, or the may need the ACE with a stronger core yet to do what you cvan make the Eraser PP do with its lighter load of particles and its medium-high RG.
