Drilling Puzzle
« on: July 19, 2004, 08:26:19 AM »
What will happen if I put the Pin + Cg parallel to the holes middle line, but in the left side, like a left? I am right-handed. Wll the change of direction be stronger and sharper?

All you have done is put the pin farther away from your positive axis point, which will make the ball save energy and get greater length.  With the cg under the pin, the mass bias is (probably) down below or below/left of your thumb hole which should make the breakpoint fairly strong and continuous on the back end.

Gotta remember, it is all relative to where you track.  If you are a low track player like me, then the pin below your middle finger, just gets it close to 5" from your PAP which is very common.  It will work, the only thing you have to worry about is if you are a high track player, making sure you put the pin where the bowtie/flare will not hit your finger holes.

Have fun.....

Hello Mike,

thanks for your help. I am a high track player, is there any specific ball measurement? Like top weight and Pin - Cg distance? I am interested in this drilling, I intend to try on one of my old balls.
