Bowling is a funny game. I was having a ton of problems with the ball over reacting. My entry angle was so high that I was leaving a lot of 8, 4 and 9 pins on pocket hits. It was also hard to follow the transition due to the massive backend I was generating.
I finally traced the problem to feeding the ball out to the dry too early. The local houses had changed their patterns to a really extreme top hat. The result was too much early friction for where I was playing.
Okay. I moved my target inside. I'm still standing way left, but I'm not throwing the ball as far right. I'm now playing the oil line properly. I found area that I had been lacking recently.
Now here comes the problem. I'm suddenly seeing very weak hits. Where my ball was previously hitting the pit behind the eight pin (I'm a righty), the ball is now finishing around the nine pin. The result is a lot more ten pins. I even left a pocket 5 pin. We're talking major deflection!
Now I do throw 14 lbs, but I also put 20 + revolutions on the ball. Hit hadn't been a problem. Control was the problem.
Anybody have some tips for keeping the ball in the oil and still hitting?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
