Pot games....Gambling..?
« on: September 19, 2003, 01:42:03 AM »
It seems to me that the ABC allows brackets, because "you're betting on yourself", which is not considered gambling, so they say.

If that's the case, then pot games/action isn't considered gambling either. That means that junior bowlers can bowl pot games with their friends, without having to worry they'll be kicked out of junior leagues.

Now I'm not saying that all kids should go out and start pot bowling each other, losing all their money. But, what do you think..? =:^D

juniors are not allowed to receive any money period for their bowling. which is why tournaments give scholarship. Gambling isn't the issue, money is, and getting money.

LC300 is so on the head pin, with that answer, that it probably would leave the 7-10.  Oh wait, he's a lefty so he probably would have carried the strike, even though dead on the head pin.

T-God, You know that brackets and pot games are gambling. If you put in $1 and get back $2, that is gambling, and that is making money, hustling!

Strap, if you put $1 in and get $2 back, I would consider that an investment. Putting money in and getting nothing back, I might consider gambling..? Actually, that would be a bad investment. =:^D

I wouldnt call it an investment, you have to bet with someone in order to win money.  I would also consider Tournaments is gambling.  Your betting your entry free in hoping to get more money.
