I just received the last of five bowling balls that I ordered from Buddiesproshop.com and the shipping from Buddies to me in CA only took 4 days.  I like most of my bowling balls to have a 3" pin and about 3 oz of top weight.  I know bowling balls usually say 2-3 pin or 3-4 pin but I don't like anything under 3 or anything close (or over ) 4.  All five bowling balls were almost exactly 3 pin and 3 oz of top.  I don't know if it was the luck of the draw with the 3-4 pin or if Buddies hand picked the pin distance for me, but all five bowling balls was dead on.  GREAT JOB TO BUDDIES PRO SHOP.

I bring this up on this portion of the website because there was some discussion on Pro Shop or internet sales (pertaining to bowling ball sales)

My pro shop charges $32 to drill put in finger inserts and to install an exactacator thumb slug.  Another pro shop in town charges $50 to drill a blank ball bought off the internet.

My pro shop looks at it this way:  They don't have to put any money for the bowling ball.  They don't have to order it, stock it or track it. They also don't have to guarantee pins, top weights or the ball at all.  Plus they get $32 dollars to drill the ball.  I know most pro shops wants to sell the ball and drill it because they make more money over all, but lucky for me I have a great ball in Classic Pro Shop in San Diego and I also have a great ball supplier in Buddies Pro Shop even though on the East Coast.  And the prices are great and there are not taxes because I am out of state.

nicanor, you got a sweet deal going there.  the pro shop in my area doesn't have a clue, so I am in search of a new driller.  I went to a shop in joliet, Il. it was recommended by someone on this sight, T & D's pro shop.  I NEEDED HELP with a problem with my middle finger, joint pain.  Anyway, I wasn't impressed,  Although he helped some with the joint pain, it now rubs me sore externally, span fills short and thumb is large with too much reverse.  he charged $50 for drill and $12 for grips and $15 for slug,$77.  I drove an hour , so about $15 for gas, total = $92.  This man is a thieve and I will never go there again.  Doesn't seem like a good business decision to overcharge, for grips and slug and run off prospective customers from out of town.
