Pro pin is a longer pin anything over 5(?) inches.  Pro CG is a ball with a straight line from the pin thru mass bias & the CG is left or right of that line by 3 or more inches I believe.  Right handers usually want the CG Left of that line when looking at the pin on top & mass bias below.

A pro CG allows you drillings that may not require a balance hole.  They are 1st quality balls.  Pro pins, in my opinion, limit your drillings & are glorified blems.  Either ball can be made to work.

Thank you for the replies.  Is the pro cg/pin usually less expensive?

Thanks again for the replies.

Barry I didn't see the Breaks on Buddies website.  I had a Break and it cracked from ring finger to balance hole so I got rid ot it.

I asked a local pro shop to order a Blue Dot for my brother coming into town tomorrow and while at it, please order me a Cell pearl.  I would never order a pro pin/cg on purpose.  I'm sure it doesn't make a big difference, but I wouldn't order a pro pin/cg myself.  I haven't seen it yet, so I'll see tomorrow.  Going out of town for a tournament this weekend and was hoping the Cell pearl would work for me.

Thanks again,

i read somewhere that pro pin bowling balls were seconds, and that some brand (i don't remember wish one) started to call them "pro pin" as a marketing strategy to sell them
