Sorry for the small figjam. If it makes you feel better, I've not done **** in a tourney since, outside of breaking even.
More recently, I've had a Scout Urethane spare ball that I've shot 279's, a 280 and 700's with. Also, the XXXL from Lane 1 has been a great go-to ball for me. Also a couple of 279's with it, and a couple of 700+ when using it on it's own. All 3 of those balls have also come out in game 3 and "saved" a 700 series at least once.
Shot a 269 on flat oil applied by bug sprayer with my Dad's old 16lb. hardrubber AMF Dick Weber 5-Star.

As far as plastic goes I shot 248 with an old white dot in a tournament on beat up dry wood lanes. Threw it up 5 and whacked it.

Throw my ball straight up the 7 board...and all the 3rd games I threw it inside 3rd arrow from the lefty side...I am really dumbfounded..why can't I score like this with my regular balls...I only average 180.
