When someone asks a technical ball question...
« on: July 30, 2003, 03:31:51 AM »
Like what should I get, how should I drill it, etc, etc...
I think everyone on this board should not answer until the requestor has entered a profile.
How about it???

not only for that purpose. But when someone is trying to sell a ball, I won't even consider it if there is no profile.

I am 100% for a profile. What does it cost to the poster? 2 minutes?
When reading a review you can be influenced even if you don't know
the "Bowling CV" of the reviewer. He or she can have a totally different
style or no experience. If the profile is not mentioned, you can't
get any interesting information from the review or the post.

I totally agree with this!! If they cant provide us the proper info on themselves then we cannot make any suggestions!

I look at the profiles. The experience and skill level of the poster  helps separates the BS from valuable info thats out there. When I post a tip or two they should know I have over 25 years solid bowling experiences.
By the way I had a lousy profile, and I updated my profile. Check it out and tell me how I can improve my profile? Thanks

Ahhh Jeez Loiuse,
I just noticed,I dont even have a profile.Well I clicked on the little
"blue" word on the upper corner,"-Profile(<<<<over there!!!!).All I got was a VACANT pop up window box, with the word HTML is ON:AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I've been a
phantom user,I'm a bonehead,but I dont care,aka mind!!
As far as selling a ball,I do that for LIVE people
in my area where I live, just to make spot moola to use for DRILLING costs.
So far the user names were GOOD ones,as far as buying bowling balls!I've bought over 40+ balls here, since I've been a member(accidental lurker, but I do post like a reg!!kinda). So far I've recieved 80% of tha stuff, the 20% is on the way!
I've never bothered to read if this seller or that seller HAS a profile??Was
I suppossed to?
Umm,I take it's good to know who is good or who is bad here at B-Reviews,I just didn't know ya had to make a profile, ooopsss,my bad!

Be cool,ya pro posters of the past/present/future!

Psycho.B.T

Profile or not,I'll still try be a doggone ok customer!!

Agree 100% with MUST HAVE A PROFILE. In fact I suggested it quite a while ago (for other purposes)and I'm sure others have as well. Some of the regulars beat me to the ground .. Id go as far as .. IF YOU DON'T POST A PROFILE (at least 20 words)YOU DON'T POST!

I couldn't agree MORE with the above!! Joe, you and I are on the same page, same paragraph, same word here !!  I've been requesting this for almost 2 years!  Big deal......it takes 2 minutes at most !  If you don't enter a profile...you can't post!  Why not?

TEMPLATE .. YES .. remember again when you first started .. if someone asked your BALL SPEED/PAP/etc .. would you know? Technical data is only required when asking a TECHNICAL QUESTION .. other wise ..TO EACH HIS OWN. TEMPLATE would not be easy to CREATE (for the site owner) but WOULD BE a starting point to assist a SITE USER!

Thanks Joe! If you CAN get technical, then yes, that helps, but you don't have to for people to get an understanding of your game.

I don't understand this. What info would you like to see in the profile that would indicate something about a used ball?

I figure if someone doesn't take the time to fill out a profile, they MIGHT just be one of those people who take you money and run. Happens from time to time. I have a much better feeling if I at least see something. This would indicate maybe this person has joined the site to stay and will be able to get back ahold of. This is just my experience..
