When someone asks a technical ball question...
« on: July 30, 2003, 03:31:51 AM »
Like what should I get, how should I drill it, etc, etc...
I think everyone on this board should not answer until the requestor has entered a profile.
How about it???

I also have a different track than most so I don't think giving this information is helpful either.

That's exactly the type of information that is useful.  If I'm reading a review, or a post asking for information, it helps me interpret the information given.  If you post that you have an odd PAP, an inverted track, or a very high/low rev rate, we can tailor our answers to match.  Like others have said, you might not knoe all the technical details, but tell us what you can.

how about this:

have your own response template! every time someone asks for ball help and there profile is missing technical info just have a boiler plate QA response like:

What is your PAP?
Axis rotation?
axis tilt?
Ball speed?
Preferred core shape?
Preferred hook shape?
Preferred coverstock?
Preferred pin placement?
Area of lane most often played?
Are you a tweener/stroker/cranker?

how many hot dogs can you eat?

just kidding on the last.

I have a feeling that JEFFREY's posting on 7/31/2003 at 8:10 AM is being IGNORED or NOT READ by MOST of the people responding .. Where is the TECHNICAL DATA that every one is confused about? There might be one that has to be answered YES/NO .. but I think he suggested excellent choices that can be used for responses .. Seems like we can't agree because some people are just not LOOKING at the suggested TEMPLATE! If you read .. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ENTERED .. but if offered MOST BOWLERS WOULD RESPOND! I've seen some young wise ones make a mockery of SOME THINGS but YOU CAN'T BE PERFECT .. but YOU CAN KEEP TRYING!

I still don't understand why people would be so skeptical of asking for a PROFILE and have NO RESERVATIONS of DEALING WITH an UNKNOWN!
