Following up on the Thumb Saver/taping issue thread from 2 wks ago...

I started using some of Vise's TA-2 series tapes with the textured crosshatching and that stuff  has pretty much saved my game. I acquired the Brunswick Thumb Saver, but haven't had to use it yet. I cannot communicate just how much better things have gotten by moving from standard white tape to the TA-2 series tapes. No more sticking, slipping, or inconsistent releases. I still throw bad shots every now and then but at least now I don't have to worry about a crappy fit/feel to go along with it. Best product I've tried yet.

Might want to try the bowling thumb sock......It has fixed all my thumb fit issues I have had in the past. I use the seamless open tip version and I love it!! If you ever have trouble getting out clean then I strongly recommend it. The only issue with it is that is you don't have the thumb tight enough it will fall off in the backswing. They have also added a less slick material to the fold now that will fit the bill if the lycra is too slick for your liking. I just use 3/4" black tape in the back side of my thumb slug (turbo switch-grip) and I never had an issue.

It goes in the ball. The first time you put your thumb in there, you'd think it's going to hang up like all hell. But whatever they make it out of allows you to feel friction while holding the ball, yet it releases smooth as soon as you get some force (i.e., from the actual throwing of the ball) on it.

I had never heard about that product until this post, and I just looked it up. How do you keep the sock on your hand? Does it have some kind of strap? Seems like it would go flying off after a few throws...

The material seems to have a little bit of elasticity to it naturally (not a lot), but it stays on the thumb without any issues. I have been using it since probably October or so and I wouldn't know what to do without it.....

I may have to try that if issues continue. The Brunswick Thumb Saver is very, very slick.
 
But thankfully, since moving over to this Vise tape, I have been relatively issue-free.
