The Nu Ball Rejuvenator was the subject of a 5 page thread in March 2013. Rather than drag all the posts here, I started a new thread.
I received my Nu Ball unit today. Since I am a recent retiree and a senior citizen, I received a senior citizen discount from Salmon Creek Bowling Products in the sum of $80.00. So the purchase price of the Rejuvenator was $199.00 which includes shipping. Check the website at
http://www.scbp.biz. Scroll down under "Nu Ball" to "Seniors" for details on the senior citizen benefit.
For me, the unit is worth the money. Several posters have turned food dehydrators into oil extractors. I have never had success with DIY projects, so making my own unit was never an option. I have tried most of the home remedies: hot water baths, my wife's hair dryer, and the dishwasher. Some are OK; some are not worth the hassle.
The instruction pamphlet that comes with the Nu Ball unit is written in plain English. It is almost impossible to misunderstand the wording. The Nu Ball is very easy to assemble, although you sometimes have to tinker with the tabs on the center section to get them to mesh with the base---not a real problem. The unit has a temperature gauge running from 85-145 degrees---a nice touch.
I used the unit with my Nail Titanium---125 degrees for 60 minutes. I was surprised at the amount of oil that came out of the NT which is not an oil guzzler. I was pretty careful about ball maintenance: wiping the ball with a microfiber towel after each toss and cleaning the ball with Clean n' Dull every 3 or 6 games at the outside. As one of the posters said in the earlier thread, there is no substitute for controlled heat.
Based on the early returns, I recommend the Nu Ball Rejuvenator.
