1. is my food order done yet
2. i hope i get home in time to watch sportscenter

Seriously, I concentrate on projecting the ball towards my intended target line with the right speed. Other than that, I try not to give it to much thought. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!

1.  Eyes on target
2.  See ball roll over intended target
3.  Follow through
4.  High fives for a strike!

Once I step up on the approach and set myself, the only thought is:
Focus or Target

After the shot, it is a quick analysis of what happened, if a strike...cool, if not how am I going to convert the spare.  After making the spare shot, another quick analysis of what happened.  Do I need to make an adjustment or ball change before the next time up or was it a bad shot?

Then it is socialize or grade papers until I'm up again.  I've been working on not overanalyzing every shot and dwelling on it the whole night.

I try to concentrate on my key points for success:
- proper push away in sync with my first step,
- walk straight (don't drift)
- freearmswing,
- keeping my elbow close to my body during the armswing,
- roll and project the ball to my breakpoint (distant focal point)
- follow through WITHOUT hitting up on the ball.

These are done subconsciously during my approach ...

I do most of my thinking before I get on the approach. I'll think about the next shot, the angle I need to attack the fronts and how to tweak my release. When I get set and I get my grip set how I like, all I think about is getting the ball pushed away correctly because its all muscle memory after that.

stopncrank - ditto what nick said. do all your thinking off the approach. when u step on the approach, let your body take over, never second guess adjustments, trust that the adjustment you made will work. after the ball is off your hand, then think about where the ball is traveling, so u can make better adjustments. just my 2 cents.

Between nick and stopncrank, thats basically what I do exactly!! When I get into a zone you can see it in my face, eyes mainly. Im spacing out big time but as soon as I step my left foot on the approach, ALWAYS step on with my left foot (just a part of my preshot routine) its GAME ON!!!! Also, when I space out, I might be looking at someone but Im not, im looking beyond them, beyond the wall, its just a blank stare looking at nothing really.
