I used to be anchor, but I don't really have any defined teams yet, although I think I'll be in the middle when fall rolls around. I think I'm bowling a league with Ron Bahr, and I'm guessing he'll be anchor. In another league (3 man), I'll probably be the middle also. Even though pressure doesn't get to me, I'd still rather have experience bringing up the end. I always put pressure on myself to bowl well regardless of whether or not it means the team winning. The way I look at it is that if you bowl your best, you'll give your team a chance to win. The only person you can control as far as helping your team is yourself, and because the chain is only as strong as its weakest link, you should focus on yourself more than your team, because if you don't do well, the effect is that your team suffers. If you put yourself first, the result is that you'll be putting your team first. You shouldn't worry about what you all collectively need to do to win the game, bowl your best, and encourage your teammates, that's really all you can do. I'm not one to look at the scoreboard and see that I only need 8 to win a game, and go at it with that attitude. I'll always focus on striking, and because 10 is greater than 8, the win is automatic.
