Never thought about this angle before.  Do u guys it'll hurt Brunswick if/when a big tax goes into effect?

Easy to flourish when you're moving products.

I think they lost a portion of their customer base with the Mexico move. Between Brunswick, DV8, and Radical... they should be able to figure something out. They aren't new to the industry.

Initial hit to move back to the US and then deal with the same profit margins that others deal with.  I know that EBI and Storm/RG are flourishing but smaller companies like Motiv can make it work.

Sure they did. But the money they saved in building a new plant in Mexico along with the money saved on a yearly basis by running the plant in Mexico likely more than made up for it. They're not building another new one in the US. That's not even a possibility. And without that they're not moving the manufacturing part of their business back to the US either.

I'm more concerned with what will happen to the production side if/when Brunswick wants to separate themselves from that side of the business. I thought something like that was reported a while back. Will Brunswick DV8, and Radical simply cease to exist or will someone else step in and buy them?

I won't miss them. Good riddance.

I mean, my guess would be that somebody would swoop in and buy them. The newest and most up-to-date bowling ball production plant isn't going to sit there and collect dust. Will just be very interesting to see what ends up happening... if I'm remembering what I read correctly at all.

So Brunswick will loose $10 a ball and they will still be making $90 a ball they will be fine. Depending on where the material is made for making bowling balls, all company's may be in the same spot. Is this material made in USA or is it IMPORTED. Just because you build it here doesn't mean you don't buy material overseas.

A little over 10 years ago I would have NEVER considered Columbia just being another stamp put on a ball in Hopkinsville Kentucky. Can anyone envision the day that all Brunswick is a name stamped on a ball rolling off the line in Utah?

Bite your tongue! :)

(Aside, I think Ebonite Int'l has done a good job of "allowing" Columbia, Hammer and Track to be their ball companies.
I'd rather Brunswick continue using their current manner of creating coverstocks, rather than use Utah's coverstocks.)

Motiv coverstocks would be a better match for Brunswick than Utah.

Hmmm, that makes me think what if Lane#1's diamond cores used Motiv coverstocks ....
Can you imagine the Cherry Buzzsaw's double diamond wrapped in the Shock's coverstock or the Forza GT's coverstock?
Or the Venom Cbra's coverstock wrapped around the original Diamond core from the Silver Diamond ball?

I meant the other companies are flourishing, not Brunswick.

I think the biggest reason L1 isn't or never grew to it's potential was the sticker shock.
