Where are the Ball Junkies?
« on: January 25, 2017, 07:59:08 AM »
Hello bowling family.
My name is Gary and I am a Bowling Ball Addict. As a new bowler I think that I am a BALL JUNKIE. I am a Hammer Head but have went outside of Hammer. Oh wait EBI is the company that own all the bowling balls I bought and bowled with two games.,Didn't like it now they are sitting in my basement. Sold a few to friends. Traded them for hammer pieces. Now storm is coming out with the Timeless(and just because I am a two hander I want it,cause a two hander influence it). I know its not a hammer but you know lol. Where are the ball junkies and let me here your stories.

If you run into any of the MM horse racing bottles pick it up and I'll send you some money.  I already have the blue American Pharoah bottle.

If it's Blue and yellow, that is what my local Bevmo has. I'll keep an eye out for the rest of them.

Yeah, the blue and yellow is American Pharoah.  If you come across a green and pink, it's Zenyatta.  Those are going for $6-700.  The rest are in the $100 neighborhood.

What's funny is you guys would really laugh if you saw my collection of Bourbon and Rye whiskies. LOL

I'm not just a ball whore, I'm a drunken ball whore!

How many bottles of Pappy Van Winkle have you scored?

MAKERS is too sweet for my taste. over 50 drink hahaha
Drinking the whiskey and then buying on the eBay.

But I do know if they see any alcohol they will pull the listings.  I've been trying to get some Makers Mark sealed bottles and the listings keep getting pulled.

For all the Motiv balls you buy is the first one drilled or blank?

I have him drill it. When the production run ends and they get cheap, that's when I buy several.

Maker's Mark is pretty good stuff. Try the Makers 46.

Makers Mark is the bottle I share with friends. For cold weather, I like Bulliet. My topper is Woodford Resv.

Milo.... selling any pearl vibes?

If you like Woodford, you'd Like Gentleman Jack, but Jack Daniel Select is much better drink.

I have only found one personally. And it wasn't even the Wheated Bourbon, but the Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye.

I have a bottle of Ol' Pappy 23 year old that my brother gave me a few years ago.

I'm not in the game for the high priced stuff that everyone chases, I much rather visit small towns with a small liquor store and find a forgotten dusty that I don't have.

Although, I would have loved to get my hands on a bottle of the Bookers Rye that recently came out.

I'm probably up around 300 balls lifetime myself, currently sitting on about 15 NIB and 15 drilled.

One of my best friends bowled tour in 91-92 and I remember when he stopped into the local pro shop he was telling me he was punching up his 89th Columbia 300 Beast that season LoL

Me too.  Unfortunately they are 16.  It is my wife's favorite ball of all time and her's is still going strong.  I would win some MAJOR brownie points for locating a NIB 15.

I told her last night about milo having them and her eyes lit up, then looked like I shot her dog when I said they were 15.

Mine is 15 lbs, not 16. Those brownie points could be yours!  ;D

Interesting. A local place is auctioning off the one bottle of Pappy they're getting in this season.

BTW is there any truth to the rumor of how hard it is to get Wild Turkey 101 Proof Rye? Have they stopped making it?
A friend told me the rumor but I can't even recall seeing that one around.
(Seen the normal ones: WT 80 proof, WT 101 Proof and WT 80 proof Rye.)

It might be, I don't recall seeing any recently. We have 80 proof locally, but not the 101. There is a higher proof Russells Reserve Rye, but at a premium price.
