Revs: Real vs. Perceived
« on: October 12, 2004, 01:58:47 AM »
When you're having your revs measured by whatever means, does it matter what ball you use?  All things being equal (speed, weight, release, etc.), does the core or cover affect the actual number of revs you put on a ball?  For example, when I throw my Rush (symmetrical core, solid reactive), it seems to rev more than my X-Factor (assymetrical, pearl).  This is just my perception of how they look like their revving as I've never had mine measured.  If this is the case, will people use fast revving balls to have the measurements made just to "bump up" their rev numbers?

To elaborate on what Stone9 has stated, if the revs are measured on the back, it does matter which ball you use as well as the layout.

A center heavy ball will rev faster than a cover heavy ball.

A symmetrical core ball will usually rev faster than an asymmetrical core ball.

To take things 1 step further, a pin axis will rev up the fastest. =:^D
