pinky finger

Just wondering if anybody has gone from using just the middle/ring finger ( and the thumb) to adding the pinky finger and if so what results did you see good or bad???

If your talking about adding a pinky hole I would strongly not try it unless you feel you have really bad wrist or hand issues and even dropping in weight doesn't help. I tried this on a couple balls 12 years ago and hated it. If anything it gives you way too much axis and while it seems you have a more secure grip on the ball it may cause you to get too late out of the ball. I have a few relatives that have their equipment like this and tried it and is not for me. I like tucking the pinky far better and can get out of it much cleaner that way.

I think it is an individual situation. We have several customers who, due to arthritis or other problems, use a pinky hole and it has allowed them to keep bowling with less pain.

Like any other thing, there will be some who like it, and some who do not. We all throw the ball differently, so if you suspect it may help, then try it on a ball. If it doesn't help, then plugging the pinky hole is an easy fix and you can try other things such as changing pitches, span, etc. to help your issue. Good luck.

It's not directly related to the actual issue, but for many years, I shot certain spares (such as 10-pin, 3-10 baby split and 6-10) using the ring finger and little finger in the regular holes. That caused the ball to slide almost straight, and for that reason, I never, ever used (or owned) a "spare ball." I didn't need one.
